A new rumor sprung up that Apple would give developers at the WWDC 08 next week a first build of the Mac OS X 10.6.
TUAW expects an official release of OS X 10.6 in January of 2009. OS X 10.6 would focus apparently on stability and security and not add new exciting features.
Additionally Mac OS X 10.6 would get rid of the PowerPC legacy and will be a 64-bit Intel only Mac OS X release.
Apple will most likely give the OS X 10.6 another cool cat name. TUAW lets you vote on which one Apple should choose. The choices range from Garfield over Lion to Felix.
