Every mobile phone maker would like to have what Apple gets on free marketing for a new phone. The rumor culture around the iPhone and almost every Apple product for that matter is unique.
We follow and report about iPhone 2.0 rumors because the interest is amazing and dwarfs most other tech stories. For those who are annoyed by half news, guesses, leaks, and fakes we are almost done.
Steve Jobs is supposed to liberate us from the 3G iPhone hysteria on Monday, June 9th.
For me the most promising rumors are about the spotted shipments and piles of boxes at Apple related warehouses, which would indicate that the new iPhone would be available soon after the announcement. This is also supported by the fact that the Apple Store has had no iPhone inventory for weeks. Additionally good news would be the rumored subsidized pricing for the 3G iPhone.
The most likely specifications of the 3G iPhone would include Tri-band HSDPA, A-GPS, slimmer and longer battery life.
