Sony confirms Sony PS3 Firmware 2.40 Features

Rumors about the new features coming in the PS3 firmware 2.40 appeared in May. Now the official Sony Playstation Blog confirms that the PS3 firmware 2.40 will include XMB access in-game and trophies.

Sony just released a minor Sony PS3 firmware update with 2.36 this week. There is no release date yet for the Sony PS3 firmware 2.40.
The Sony PS3 firmware 2.40 will be a somewhat of a major update. The achievement system called Trophies might be a really cool new thing for pushing online usage and community building on the Playstation network.
