RIM announced the Blackberry Bold in early May. The Boy Genius Report got the information from AT&T that the Blackberry Bold is delayed until August. The reasons are apparently issues with battery life and overheating.

I actually did not know about a more specific release date than "Summer". Oh well, the iPhone 3G is taking over all available mindshare next month when it gets released on July 11th anyway.
The Blackberry Bold is the first BlackBerry smartphone to support tri-band HSDPA high-speed networks around the world and comes with integrated GPS and Wi-Fi, as well as a rich set of multimedia capabilities.
The Bold is actually not the right weapon against the iPhone 3G. RIM actually has the Blackberry Thunder in their arsenal. We will see if that first Blackberry touchscreen phone can "touch" the iPhone 3G.
