A couple hours ago I wrote a story on the iPhone 3G launch and asked the question when the lines will start to build. I did not expect Apple fans to start lining up already today one week before the iPhone 3G launch, but they did.
Engadget interviewed the leader of the initial group of people that lined up. Apparently they want to break the world record in waiting in line. I would rather break the world record in lying on the beach.
See photos and a video interview on Engadget.
I am not even sure if it is that smart to line up at an Apple store for the iPhone 3G. I think it might be more efficient at an AT&T store, because of the activation procedure that is going to take place at purchase. If you have too much time on your hands than take a vacation trip rather than camping on the streets of New York.
