Today and this week the hottest trade-show is the E3 2008, but the IFA 2008 consumer electronics show is getting underway pretty soon.
I was at an IFA-Preview event last week to get an early look on what some of the major consumer electronics companies will unveil at the huge show in Berlin starting August 29th.
I have not seen anything mind-boggling new yet. LCD HDTV will get bigger and better, every company will show a Blu-ray player (albeit still most without BD Live support) and lots of devices around the home media network will be on display.
You can see several of the new products in the Miss IFA 2008 photo gallery.
In case you are wondering why Miss IFA 2008 is posing with home appliances like washing machines and kitchen gear. It is not because Miss IFA decided to become a homemaker, the IFA will for the first time have a Home Appliances@IFA segment.
An exclusive exhibition area measuring 25,000 square meters in Halls 1.1 to 4.1 has been earmarked for the new international trade show HOME APPLIANCES@IFA. The idea is that consumer electronics and appliances are starting to connect and the borders get blurred.
The IFA 2008 will take place from August 29th to September 3rd. We will report about the most interesting news as they become available before and during the show.
