Magellan and Triton Maps Offer Most Comprehensive Maps Available

Magellan and Intermap announced today that they have teamed up to provide Magellan GPS users with the most comprehensive maps available for outdoor enthusiasts. The new enhanced maps offer more layers than any other data set on the market.

The maps will provide access to digital terrain data, off-road and recreation-related roads, trails, and points-of-interest like campgrounds, service facilities and landmarks. The maps are available for download and include data for the lower 48 states and Hawaii. The new maps support the Magellan AccuTerra, and Triton 400, 500, 1500, and 1200 as well as the eXplorist 400, 500, 600 and XL devices.

"We are pleased that Magellan has chosen to complement its product lines with the nation's best recreational map content for GPS devices," said Eric DesRoche, senior vice president of automotive and consumer electronics for Intermap. "The augmentation of Magellan's leading handheld GPS products with our AccuTerra GPS maps enhances the user's experience and expands the possibilities afforded to recreational enthusiasts who use GPS devices to master the great outdoors."
