Sony revealed four new VAIO notebook lines. The Sony VAIO BZ series is aimed at business users.
The Sony VAIO BZ notebooks feature a 15.4-inch widescreen display and full-size keyboard while weighing less than 6 pounds. An optional anti-glare screen featuring Sony’s patented XBRITE-ECO LCD technology provides a crystal-clear picture.
Other features of the Sony VAIO BZ notebooks include magnesium alloy casing, G-Sensor Shock Protection, 4GB RAM max., 320GB HDD max, Intel Centrino 2 chipset, Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, Intel vPro (some models), 802.11n LAN technology, Memory Stick media/SD card slot, three USB ports, i.LINK IEEE-1394 port, microphone and headphone jack and a PC Card (type-II) slot.
The BZ notebooks come pre-installed with Windows Vista Business operating system. A Windows XP Pro downgrade is also included for easy integration into existing platforms.
The VAIO Professional BZ Series notebook line will be available, later this month, starting at about $1,000, through value-added resellers and direct market resellers.
