The Airwave will work with any Sprint mobile phone and broadband Internet connection. When in use the Femtocell provides a better signal in the home or office, which can be the difference in being able to use a phone in certain locations and not being able to use it at all.
Sprint says that users of the Airwave will be able to start a call at home and if they leave the Airwave coverage area the call automatically goes to the Sprint mobile network. Sprint customers will be able to get the Airwave on August 17th for $99.99. Enhanced coverage plans for the Airwave start at $4.99 per month and unlimited calling plans are an additional $20 monthly for individuals or $30 per month for families.
