USA Today reports along side an interview with AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson that Apple is rumored to have extended the exclusivity of the iPhone with AT&T to 2010.
In the original contract Apple apparently could have offered the iPhone to other U.S. carriers by early 2009.
Randall Stephenson did not want to discuss the details of the terms or confirm the 2010 date. He only said that he is "very happy" with the arrangement.
Stephenson says that AT&T is all about wireless and therefore the iPhone is an important driver of that transformation.
More details on USA Today.
In other countries the iPhone is already offered by more than one carrier. For the U.S. iPhone fans the carrier choice for the iPhone is still at least two years away as it seems.
