The unique Sony VAIO P ultra-portable notebook (I spare you the netbook versus notebook discussion) is available for pre-order and it really starts at $899.99.
The Sony Style store takes pre-orders and supposedly ships earlier than other stores with a shipping date of February 3rd. Dynamism for instance states a shipping date of February 12th. Amazon has listed the VAIO P but without price and shipping details.
For $899.99 you get the VGN-P530H with Vista Home Basic and a 60GB HDD. The Sony VGN-P530H is available in great colors including black, white, green and red and Sony Style even lets you engrave them.
The Sony VAIO P VGN-P588E has Vista Premium and a 64GB SSD. The SSD ups the price to $1,199.99.
The Sony VGN-P598E has a larger SSD with 128GB and actually quite big price tag of $1,499.99.
All VIAO P feature the unique 8 inch screen with 1600 x 768px resolution.
More details on the VIAO P can be found in our original report.
