Dell's entry (aka Dell mini) into the netbook arena is supposedly almost here as all specification details have already leaked.
The only missing piece is the final price. The rumored release date for the Inspiron 910 is August 22nd.
Update: Dell Inspiron Mini 9 ships
The Atom based Dell Inspiron 910 netbook features a 8.9 inch screen with 1024x600px resolution, 512MB/1GB RAM, 4GB/8GB/16GB SSD storage, 1.3MP camera, and 4-cell battery.
The Dell Inspiron comes with Windows XP or with Ubuntu 8.04 Linux pre-installed.
If the rumored starting price of $299 holds true then the Inspiron 910 netbook has a chance.

Lenovo has their entry into the netbook market already listed on their shop. The Lenovo IdeaPad S10 starts at $429.
