Sony Ericsson has announced that it is extending its sales channels in America with its first handset specifically for T-Mobile called the TM506. The new handset will be available in early September and is Sony Ericsson's first handset to support AWS 1700/2100 used by T-Mobile.

The phone is small weighing only 3.4 ounces including the battery and measuring 3.7 x 1.9 x 0.69 inches. The talk time is up 9.5 hours on GSM networks and up to 3.5 hours on UMTS networks with a standby time of 250 hours for GSM and UMTS networks.

Other features of the phone include a 2-megapixel camera, media center, aGPS, Bluetooth 2.0, and memory expansion Sony M2 memory cards. The handset will be available in chrome with amber or emerald highlights with ebony gloss. Pricing is unknown at this time.
