Canon announced the new 15.1MP Canon 50D DSLR camera this week. The Canon 50D is a bit more expensive than the Nikon D90. The higher resolution and the exceptional sensitivity of ISO 12,800 is surely to blame for the price difference.
Canon targets with the 50D advanced amateur photographers who blur the line between the hobbyist and the professional.
Canon is taking steps to give advanced amateurs more flexibility with a new "CA" Creative Full Auto setting on the EOS 50D Digital SLR camera's mode dial. This new setting goes a step beyond Full Auto, by allowing users to make adjustments before shooting while still in an Automatic mode, without needing to know the meaning of technical terms such as aperture, shutter speed, etc.
If you choose a Canon, Nikon or Sony DSLR camera is almost a choice of faith. If you believe in Canon than the D50 is a very interesting choice starting at $1,399 (body only).
For Whom:
Great gift for amateurs who want to take the next level. They should be Canon believers.
The Good:
High Resolution
High Sensitivity
Advanced setting options
The Bad:
Not known yet
Where to Buy:
The Canon 50D is shipping in October. Amazon has the Canon 50D listed.
