Airfonix has announced a new wireless audio product for the pro and semi-pro market that allows for wireless Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound and Dolby Pro Logic II decoding. The system has three 100W amps and supports full 5.1 audio.

The device has a pair of S/PDIF inputs and directly connects to HDTV, DVD or other video game and audio equipment. The device has connectivity for right, left, and center channels as well as a sub out. It can connect to a sound bar as well.

The wireless surround for right and left rear speakers uses uncompressed 24-bit HDTV compliant 48-KHz sampling to a receiver that can dock with any speaker. Pricing is unknown at this time and the product will ship in early 2009.
