Today the Windows 7 pre-order deals launched in Germany, UK and France. In Germany Microsoft offered a 75% discount on Windows 7 Home Premium. The normal price is a whopping 199.99 Euro. The discounted price is only 49.99 Euro. We reported earlier today that German Amazon sold out in minutes this pre-order deal.
The official Microsoft store was overloaded most of the morning and now carries a message that the Windows 7 Home Premium pre-order discount is not available anymore when you add the product into the shopping cart.
At this point I consider the Windows 7 Home Premium deal as sold out in Germany.
Despite the big discount it makes one wonder, why the Windows 7 deal is already sold out in Germany, when in the United States the pre-order discount was available throughout the whole sales period. The demand for Windows 7 at a low price was definitely there. Unless Microsoft is disclosing the pre-order numbers we will not know who big the the sales success of Windows 7 already is.
