Spore Ships to Retailers Worldwide this Week

EA announced today that gamers around the world would be able to get their hands on spore this week. Spore is on store shelves in Germany, France, Belgium, and more countries in Europe today. Tomorrow more of Europe and South Africa will get the game.

On September 7th, Spore will be available in North America. The game is available for PC, Mac, mobile phones, iPhone, and the Nintendo DS. EA says the game will retail for $49.99. It is not clear if all versions will sell for the same price. I figure the mobile and Nintendo DS versions will be cheaper.

"Spanning hundreds of millions of years, Spore's scope is unprecedented in gaming. It has been a long time in the making and the team at Maxis is excited to finally share the game with the world," said Will Wright, chief designer at Maxis. "We can't wait to see the amazing worlds that our fans build, as they tell their own stories with the game."
