A new application for the iPhone called Thumbtacts promises to make finding contacts an easy, one-handed task. The app is available free and an icon allows you to swipe a finger up, down, left and right to access contacts by letter. The app can sort contacts by name, nickname, job title, and company. The downside is that some users say the app takes a long time to initialize before it can be used.
“Over 10,000 downloads, in less than a week of its release, and number eight in the Business category of the App Store certainly highlights the importance of an easy-to-use contact lookup application,” said Sean-Michael Daley, CEO kannuu, Inc., “When it comes to advancing inventive offerings, the real champions are the application developers, and we aim to support their efforts at innovation with our rich set of powerful tools that provide for rapid and easy integration into their high demand OS X web-based and device native applications and projects.”
