According to Japanese gaming magazine publisher Famitsu (via Wired) the new Sony PSP-3000 console sold 141,270 in the first 4 days based on Enterbrain sales data.
Sony PSP console sales were very low the month before, which was understandable as the new PSP was already announced.

Overall Sony sold over 10 million (10,357,481) PSP consoles in Japan to date.
The Sony PSP-3000 also began shipping in the U.S. last week. There is now a black PSP-3000 available for pre-order.
