Sky is looking to buy itself an ISP and is in exclusive talks to buy the UK ISP Tiscali for a price of around £450m. The offered price is subject to due diligence and could be done after a look at Tiscali's books. The ISP has 1.8 million subscribers and would move Sky from the fifth slot of top ISPs to third.

Whether or not Sky would transition all of the customers to the Easynet network it bought when it entered the ISP business is unknown. I would bet that buying an ISP like Tiscali and then trying to force the customers to move to a different network wouldn't work out as well as just letting them stay how they are.
Sky isn’t alone in aspirations to buy Tiscali though with Vodafone and Carphone Warehouse reportedly showing interest. At least for now Sky has exclusive bidding rights, though that could change if the offering price does.
