Sony DCR-SR68 80GB HDD Handycam Is Available For Pre-order

The Sony DCR-SR68 debuted at CES 2010. It has a built-in 80GB hard disk drive so it can record and store up to 61 hours of video footage in LP mode. It also has “HDD Smart Protection” which can give you less to worry about by preventing any recorded video and images from being lost if the camcorder is dropped. It’s 60x Optical zoom and 2000x Digital zoom are perfect for shooting events, wildlife, or distance shooting. 60x optical zoom brings you closer to the action with less distortion then previous types of digital zoom.

It boasts the professional quality Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens designed specifically for compact camcorders. The DCR-SR68 has a 2.7” Clear Photo LCD3 display that gives you quality viewing and clarity with 230K pixels. The lens also can turn 270 degrees for amazing shots that might otherwise have been missed. The camcorder also features Direct Copy to external HDD which allows you to copy videos from your camcorder directly to an external drive (sold separately) all without a computer.

The Sony DCR-SR68 also has Face Detection technology which recognizes up to eight faces and automatically adjusts exposure to help capture faces more clearly and brightly. The DCR-SR68 features an LED light that can assist in low-light situations giving you more flexibility when capturing your video.
