Pet lovers out there will get a kick out of this gadget called the SNIF Tag. The device features wireless sensing and social networking technologies to allow dog owners to supervise their pet's activities. The tag also offers access to a social network for pet owners.

The tag comes in different colors and patterns. It connects to the dog's collar, records his daily movements and social encounters, and then uploads them to the Internet for owners to see. The tag complies data on the pet's habits and activity can be compared to activity levels for other dogs of the same breed.

“We loved the idea of using real-world social networking to let your dog do the relationship-building work and act as a kind of social catalyst,” said Noah Paessel, CEO and co-founder of SNIF Labs. “SNIF Tag not only gives dog owners peace of mind, it also offers a non-threatening way to meet new friends and companions via their dogs’ encounters.”
