Samsung announced the new Samsung NX series hybrid cameras in March. A rumor appeared on an Austrian OLED forum (via OLED-Display) saying that the first NX camera will be the Samsung NX3 featuring an HD 3.0 OLED screen. The announcement of the new Samsung NX3 is supposed to happen on July 7th.
According to the rumor the Samsung NX3 would feature LED Viewfinder, 3 inch OLED screen with 960x720p resolution, 14.6MP sensor, 100-6400 ISO and HD video recording.
Unlike a DSLR, the Samsung NX Series does not feature a mirror box and employs an ultra-precise Electronic Viewfinder (EVF).
The use of an EVF has allowed Samsung engineers to significantly reduce the size and weight of the new camera system by decreasing the distance between the lens and image sensor (flange back) by approximately 60% compared to traditional DSLRs. In addition to utilizing the EVF, consumers can also take advantage of the camera’s Live View functionality to frame their shots on the NX Series’ high resolution screen.
Samsung is also rumored to unveil besides the Samsung NX3, the Samsung DSLR GX30 and the Samsung HZ30W aka WB700 camera on July 7th.
