BlackBerry Storm hit by last Minute OS downgrade?

Buy BlackBerry Storm from Amazon Cyber Monday and Black Friday Now

The BlackBerry Storm launched amidst high anticipation and long lines (see video coverage yesterday in the US. The software issues pointed out in most reviews last week did not stop the Storm as it seems.
The Boy Genius Report reports that the BlackBerry Storm shipped with OS Firmware 4.7.0.65, but RIM was already at least installing version 4.7.0.82. Update: RIM officially responds to this sticker and OS firmware topic. Read the details on BGR.
A sticker on the BlackBerry Storm that is hidden under the final one confirms that OS version number. So possibly something major was wrong in the version of the BlackBerry Storm OS that was supposed to ship.
The last minute downgrade could also be the reason that online orders for the BlackBerry Storm are being shipped by December 15th! The good news is that RIM will be possibly ready with a new Storm OS upgrade pretty soon.
