The New Nikon CoolPix S8000 is on Pre-order on Amazon for $299.95.

The Coolpix S8000 has a precision wide-angle 10x zoom so you can really get in close to the action even from far away. It features Nikkor ED glass lens, 14.2 megapixel resolution for great picture quality and stunning results. It also features a variety of advanced shooting functions including the Creative Slider which is a new fun way to apply a rich variety of effects when shooting in Auto Mode. You can adjust brightness, saturation and color tone using the Rotary Multi Selector this allows you the option to make unique and different images of your pictures.

The New Nikon CoolPix S8000 has an exceptional 3-inch Clear Color Display for an ultra wide-viewing angle, anti-reflection coating, and screen brightness adjustment. The brilliant 3.0-inch 920-dot VGA display offers four times the clarity and detail of standard cameras for amazing image reproduction. You can captivate your family and friends with movies that capture the impact of the scene with HD. The Coolpix S8000 can shoot up to 1.5 hours of HD movies (720p) with sound at 30fps. HMDI output is also available for easy in camera playback on your own television or computer.

Other features of the camera are its high ISO 1600 capability which allows shooting at faster shutter speeds, which gives you great results when you are shooting fast action scenes or in low light. It also has Motion Detection assist which results in achieving sharper results by automatically controlling the shutter speed and ISO setting to compensate for subject movement as well as camera shake. The New Nikon CoolPix S8000 also has advanced flash controls, Skin Softening function, Face-priority AF which helps produce portraits by adjusting focus and exposure.
