The rumored Touchscreen Sony Walkman leaks on Gizmodo (Via OLED-Display) as Sony Walkman NWZ-X1000. Looks like Gizmodo removed the story, but the product image and the few details of the NWZ-X1000 are now already all over the web. Update: Sony NWZ-X1000 Walkman is official
Apparently the Wifi enabled Sony Walkman NWZ-X1000 will come in 16GB and 32GB configurations. The highlight of the NWZ-X1000 is the 3 inch OLED touchscreen. The design of the Sony Walkman NWZ-X1000 is distinct and will not go down well with everybody. Mainly the stone texture makes the look of the NWZ-X1000 a bit edgy.
With the Sony Walkman NWZ-X1000 Sony catches up with Apple's iPod touch, but in my opinion that will not help. Apple has with the App Store a value-add that Sony will not be able to recreate unless the NWZ-X1000 runs Windows or PSP games. Sorry, Sony this one will not help solve your problems.
