Sony announces the new firmware 2.60 for the Sony PS3. The new Sony PS3 firmware update 2.60 is primarily bringing new media capabilities. The highlight is a new Photo Gallery application, which delivers a suite of tools for sorting through and displaying your digital photo collection.
Other features of Sony PS3 firmware 2.60 include Guest access to PlayStation Store and DivX 3.11 support. The Sony Playstation Blog offers a video detailing the new features in the PS3 firmware 2.60. Sony did not say when they will release 2.60. Could be tomorrow or next week.
The PS3 firmware 2.60 is offering more new things than the PSP firmware 5.03 that Sony launched today. Still the new features are not helping to sell the PS3.
