Acer already made plans to enter the smartphone business back in 2007. Now Acer is ready to unveil their first smartphone at the Mobile World Congress 2009 in Barcelona on February 16th.
According to Pocket-lint Acer has sent out invitations for a press-event that says "smartphones launch."
Acer has bought E-Ten the maker of the Glofiish smartphones last year.
If Acer's smartphones will have any impact on the market remains to be seen.
The Mobile World Congress 2009 (MWC 2009) is starting on February 16th and lasts until the 19th. The MWC 2009 (former 3GSM) takes place again in Barcelona.
