Synaptics has announced that its ClearPad touchscreen technology has been used in the new NTT DOCOMO Prime Series N-01A mobile phone. The ClearPad technology brings advanced gesture control to the handset.

The technology also supports an EGR gesture library to enable shortcuts for navigation and commands using gestures. Among the supported single finger gestures are tap, double tap, and swipe. Multi-finger gestures include things like pinch.

The screen provides 500+ dpi without needing any calibration and can be used with a glass or PET substrate. The screen is designed to lower power consumption as well with doze, sleep, and deep sleep modes.
