The latest version offers full-screen video calling, clear call quality and is easier to use than ever before. The application has a built-in bandwidth manager to allow users on slower connections to enjoy video calls. On a connection of at least 400Kb/s or higher and a PC with a dual core processor along with a Certified Skype HQ Video Cam users can get full 30 frames per second video calling.
Call quality has been improved with a new audio codec that uses 50% less bandwidth. Set up is easier as well for mics, webcams, and headsets. New views are offered including a compact view with conversations in separate windows or a new default view with everything in one window.
