Nielsen Media Research updated the audience numbers for Super Bowl XLIII and now it is official that the Super Bowl 2009 was the most watched sporting event in TV history according to The Variety.
An estimated 98.73 million had watched the Super Bowl and the Super Bowl ads. Of course not all of them sat through the whole game. Still lots of them watched the number #1 Super Bowl 2009 Ad according to TiVo: Go Daddy's Enhanced?.
The Super Bowl 2009 has about 1 million more viewers than the Super Bowl 2008. With an audience close to 100 million it is clear that the Super Bowl ads have been a bargain at $3m.
