StorCenter Pro ix4-100 units use four drives and are powered by the EMC LifeLine software, which is a Linux operating system with applications to allow for data backup and serving. Multiple RAID configurations are supported and RSA enterprise security protection is offered.
RAID modes include RAID 5 and RAID 10 as well as JBOD. Drives inside the system are hot swappable and the devices connect to a network with Gigabit Ethernet. Four USB ports are available for adding more storage capacity or printers to the network. The 2TB device retails for $799.99, the 4TB sells for $1299.95, and both will be available this month.
