It wasn't so long ago that buying a SSD meant you were looking at spending $1000 or more. Today the price of SSDs is dropping at an impressive rate. Intel has one of the better SSDs on the market with its X25-M and the storage device can now be purchased for under $370 on Newegg.com.
The SSD has 80GB of storage and is one of the fastest SSDs that consumers can get their hands on today. That is still a lot of coin for a mere 80GB of storage. When prices for 120GB or 160GB of storage hit the same $350 range, things will start looking a lot more interesting for consumers.
