The rumor mill always seems to churn overtime when it comes to Apple products. One of the rumors that have been swirling around recently has to do with a new iPhone believed to be coming this year dubbed iPhone 2009.

Few will argue that Apple needs more models of its iPhone, but what isn’t known is will the rumored iPhone 2009 (if it's even real) be a new model sold alongside the current iPhone 3G or will it be an replacement for the current iPhone.
Some analysts say that what Apple needs to grab the significant market share that it wants in the mobile phone industry is a variety of handsets and at least one model selling at the magic sub-$100 price point. Apple could get to this magic number in a couple ways.
First, it could launch the long rumored iPhone Nano as a sort of cut down featured iPhone. Second Apple could simply launch the inevitable 32GB iPhone 3G and push the current 8GB iPhone 3G down to the $99 price point.
A new rumor was floating around today that claims Apple is looking to free the iPhone from the shackles of the AT&T network and specifically bring it to Verizon. I don’t see much merit to this as Apple gave AT&T a long and exclusive contract for the iPhone at launch. Still, the iPhone 2009 could be the version of the current iPhone reworked to operate on the Verizon network.
Some claims have said that Apple will be launching three new iPhones this year. We could possibly see that being the Verizon iPhone, the iPhone Nano, and a new iPhone model. Pictures of what is rumored to be the new iPhone rear case have shown up online already this year and could be of one of the new models.
Apple has also said that it is considering adding video calling to the iPhone, which would really need to be more than a software update. After all, how can you have video calling with no camera facing the user?
If Apple is coming out with new iPhones this year, I have a few requests as far as features go. First, I want an onscreen keyboard that will go into landscape mode no matter where I am. I would like to be able to delete icons that I don’t use even if they are Apple supplied icons. I have never used the stock price checker and I really want it gone.

I want a usable voice-dialing feature; it’s a massive pain when driving to have to look down at my phone to call a number. I also want a better camera, just look at Motorola as an example that you can put a great camera inside a phone. I want Flash support too Apple, how hard could this really be to pull off? I want to be able to record video on the phone and for goodness sake why can I not receive multimedia text messages? My wife's crappy Centro and my friends BlackBerry's can. What features would you like to see on a new iPhone?
