When Microsoft is going to release Windows 7 has started to become a real guessing game. Microsoft's official message is that Windows 7 will be released by January 2010 (Via Reuters).
Analysts and more recently PC contractor Compal said (Via Electronista) that Windows 7 could ship already in fall of 2009.
Looking at the low Microsoft Stock price (11-year low) and the weak earnings forecast for 2009, Windows 7 better be launching in 2009 in time for the holiday shopping season.Possibly President Obama needs to give Ballmer a call to tell him "Yes We Can launch Windows 7 in 2009."
Missing out on the Holiday shopping season would be just bloody stupid. A Windows 7 release would give the whole PC industry a dramatic boost, badly needed in this economic crisis.
