The typical wireless frequency used is 2.4 GHz and that band can become crowded in and around many locations. The 5GHz band is ideal for latency-sensitive applications like streaming HD files and online game play.
The adapter features Wi-Fi Protected Setup to remove many of the complex steps typically associated with setting up a secure wireless network. The device also uses MIMO technology to improve transmission speeds. Trendnet says the adapter will retail for $59.99.
