Trendnet has announced that it is now shipping its new TEW-664UB 300Mbps dual band wireless N USB adapter. The adapter is compatible with both Mac and windows computers and allows users to choose their network frequency between 2.4GHz and 5GHz. The dual frequency design allows the user to choose the best frequency for their needs and for their home.

The typical wireless frequency used is 2.4 GHz and that band can become crowded in and around many locations. The 5GHz band is ideal for latency-sensitive applications like streaming HD files and online game play.

The adapter features Wi-Fi Protected Setup to remove many of the complex steps typically associated with setting up a secure wireless network. The device also uses MIMO technology to improve transmission speeds. Trendnet says the adapter will retail for $59.99.
