While it performs well, the car is also twice as efficient as a Toyota Prius. Tesla says that Canada is a good showcase for its vehicle since the country is one of only two countries in the world where most of the electricity is from renewable sources.
Tesla says that its car charged on the Canadian power grid would reduce greenhouse gas emissions by about 85% compared to a gas vehicle. Vehicles for Canada will initially be delivered through centers in Seattle and New York. The Canadian base price is not yet set, but the US price for a Roadster starts at $109,000.
