Disney Interactive has announced a new video game that is in the works for a 2010 release called Split/Second. The game is a racing title that puts players inside a vehicle competing on a reality TV show. Players race around a city that is destructible and built specifically for the TV show.
Players can crash into opponents, knock them from the track, and trigger explosions that alter the racetrack and dynamics of the race. “Split/Second elevates action racing to a new level by enabling players to strategically take out their opponents by dynamically altering the course in real time,” said Craig Relyea, senior vice president of global marketing, Disney Interactive Studios. “Split/Second further showcases Black Rock Studio’s ability to innovate and deliver a compelling experience that has wide appeal beyond the traditional racing genre.”
