AT&T to sell iPhone 3G at $599 with No-Commitment

AT&T is apparently getting ready to sell the 8GB and 16GB iPhone 3G without a contract for $599 and $699 respectively.
Boy Genius Report has some slides from an AT&T Customer Care Team meeting explaining the details of this new iPhone deal from AT&T.
The offer will start on March 26th to existing customers only.
The No-Commitment iPhone 3G does not require a signed 2 year contract and activation at the point of sale. I am not sure if the offer is interesting at all as the pricing is pretty high and if you want to use the iPhone in the United States you need to sign-up with AT&T anyway, unless you are into the unlocking game.
