As reported earlier Microsoft launched the final release of Internet Explorer 8 at 12 EST. I just grabbed the 16MB download for Windows XP a couple minutes ago and after two reboots I am writing this in the final release of IE8.
I had IE8 RC1 running before. The first impression is that final release of IE8 feels a bit more responsive even.
Walt Mossberg wrote in his IE8 review today that IE8 is slower than Firefox and Safari 4, but overall it is a great new browser for those used to IE.
