ARM has announced that it will be expanding its line of FAST Model Cortex processors. Two new processors will be added to its Cortex A9 MPCore multicore processor line along with new additions to the Coretex-M3 line.

The new processors are designed to allow for rapid development and optimization of software on single and multi-core processors based on virtual platforms. ARM says that Fast Model processors can hit speeds of up to 250MHz allowing real-time execution of software.

The software can then be analyzed by the ARM Profiler tool. Ahead of the processor launch, ARM says that developers can optimize software, drivers, and middleware in the ARM simulation environment.
