Rumors about a Microsoft Tablet got refreshed again this weekend by a hint at 9to5Mac and in more details by Mary-Jo Foley on ZDNet. I am actually totally not excited about a Microsoft Tablet. Why? Because Microsoft has done Tablet PCs with manufacturers for years. The only difference now is that the UI would be more like the Microsoft Surface devices.
Most people are interested in the Apple Tablet, which I do not find that exciting either, unless Apple comes up with something revolutionary to experience with a Tablet Computer. A nice UI will not make Tablet Computers a mass market device. There needs to be new content and new synergies that are exciting on a Tablet.
The Microsoft Tablet rumors are still vague and Mary-Jo Foley even says that Microsoft is waiting for Apple to come out with a Tablet Computer first.
Update: Microsoft Courier Unveiled.
