Electronic health records are a good way for people with lots of medical conditions and those who take lots of medications to keep their important health data on them at all times. A company called Allscripts has announced a new iPhone application for the iPhone called Allscripts Remote.

The application provides doctors with real-time access to Allscripts Electronic Health Records for patients. The idea behind the application is to provide doctors access to medical charts and patient information via the iPhone from wherever the doctor happens to be.

Access to this sort of data helps prevent medication errors and gives the doctor access to more information about the patient to make better decisions. The application also allows doctors to dictate notes over the phone and have them recorded.
