Nikon launched the Nikon D5000 DSLR camera today.
PhotographyBlog got some hands-on time with the D5000 at the UK launch event. They could not shoot any photos with the D5000 as it was still a pre-production model.
They have published 22 photos of the D5000 though. Their initial take is rather positive. The D5000 handles like the D90. The missing auto focus in the video mode is still an issue that prevents this DSLR from being a real video camera. The Nikon D5000 is the newest addition to its family of DX-format digital SLRs. The Nikon D5000 features a versatile Vari-angle 2.7 inch LCD monitor that can be viewed in normal position flush against the camera back, or swung out and rotated and/or tilted.
