ThermaPAK has announced a new promotion for its line of HeatShift laptop cooling devices. With the new promotion, those upgrading from any other brand of cooling pad for notebook computers can get half off the price of the ThermaPAK solutions.

The catch to the upgrade program is that the user has to send in their old cooling pad to be recycled. The ThermaPAK passive coolers are also available in new sizes and colors. The pads now come in 13-inch, 15-inch, and 17-inch sizes in black, white, and pink colors. Pricing for the pads at full retail is $27.99, $29.99, and $34.99 respectively.

The cooling pads are completely passive, have no fans, and therefore require no power. Inside the quilted pads are organic cooling crystals. The pad itself is lightweight, eco friendly, and washable. More sizes are coming later in 2009.
