Microsoft’s Partner Program website let slip that the Windows 7 release candidate will be available for the public on May 5th, according to the folks at Ars Technica.
The statement also claims that the Windows 7 RC is available for MSDN and TechNet subscribers now, but Ars Technica reports that it is not yet the case. Perhaps the Microsoft’s Partner Program let the information out a little early? Wouldn’t be the first time. Last month, the Windows 7 RC download page appeared on TechNet prematurely, as did the beta download page before the beta release was actually available.
Windows 7 final release date is still unknown. Microsoft claims Q1 2010, but rumors hint at an earlier date.
