That feature eliminates the need to install client software and makes it dead simple to play files on Windows Media Center and extender devices like the Xbox 360.
The previous iPlayer required a complex setup to play files on the Xbox 360 smoothly. With the Xbox now easier to support owners of the Microsoft console can get the same iPlayer love as the Wii and PS3 get.
