NCR has announced new technology that allows account holders at participating banks to deposit checks using their camera phone. With the technology customers take pictures of both sides of a check with the camera phone and then submit the pictures to their banks digitally.
I wonder if you still have to send your bank the paper check or if this is like the new check systems that stores use where they scan your checks and then just hand them back to you. I would assume that you no longer need the paper check after the deposit is sent in. The downside is on slow networks sending the image files could take a long time.
