Consumers are flocking to Internet TV, primarily for access to programs that let them identify songs played during television episodes, and for the ability to find out information about the actors on-screen. The additional content that Internet TV's provide is the primary reason for consumer interest. Internet television expands the depth of any program you watch on it. It's also a much more convenient way to browse for upcoming programs.
The upcoming Internet-TV boom wasn't the only interesting thing this study found. It showed that 62% of adults spend at least some of their TV time also connected to the Internet. Sound familiar, all of you sitting there browsing with your netbooks while you watch South Park or The Office?

This is just another sign of the digital era. People love information, and when they have to choose between different modes of entertainment, they'll pick the one that stimulates their brain-meats more. The next time you can't recall an actor's name (or want to see if they've been in any dirty movies) you'll be able to do so at the click of a button. Is it really surprising these things are going to be huge?
