Cheaper Apple MacBooks rumored

Buy Apple MacBook from Amazon Cyber Monday and Black Friday Now

We already reported about a rumor that Apple is updating MacBooks at the WWDC 2009 in June. AppleInsider reports now that Apple is planning to introduce lower cost MacBooks. This move is apparently to counter the pressure coming from the ultra-low cost Netbooks.

With Windows 7 on the horizon (Windows 7 said to be released on October 23rd) a broader stance of Apple hardware would be a good move. Windows 7 will take over new netbooks like a tsunami. If Apple can get closer to the netbook price point and offer a nice OS X Leopard experience on these machines than this can appeal to more customers.
